Amelia Timbers leads sustainability at the San Mateo County Transit District, which operates Caltrain commuter rail and SamTrans bus service. She brings over seven years of experience in environmental management, a track record of facilitating sustainability adoption and GHG reductions in the private and public sectors, and experience negotiating corporate social responsibility improvements at Fortune 100 companies. She is experienced at managing complex sustainability programs and projects across functions, silos, jurisdictions, and organizations. She holds a JD and MBA from Northeastern University, and a Masters in Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School. Most recently, she led SamTrans in preparing an Adaptation and Resilience Plan, and in developing energy procurement strategies for electrified service in both systems.
