Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)
André Stafford is a public transportation professional with 16 years of service planning, operations and customer service experience. André currently serves as the service planner for Metrobus service operating in Northern Virginia. In his current role, he accomplished one his greatest professional achievements – crafting a shuttle bus network to transport thousands of displaced Metrorail riders during WMATA’s first Platform Improvement Project in 2019.
At a young age, he was intrigued by public transportation. It began as a hobby, studying how different systems operated and watching buses and trains move people. Eventually, he made the decision to make transit planning and operations his career and has proudly served at agencies based in Buffalo, New York; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Alexandria, Virginia and now Washington, D.C.
André has completed the Eno Transportation Foundation Mid-Manager program and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.
