Christof Spieler, PE, AICP, LEED AP is Director of Planning at Huitt-Zollars. He has been advising MBTA on bus network redesign since 2019. His other recent work includes transit planning in Philadelphia, Fort Worth, and the Twin Cities, a community vision for Galveston, greenways in Houston, street design manuals for Dallas, and the City of Houston’s response to a proposed highway expansion. He teaches at Rice University and served on Houston METRO’s board from 2010 to 2018, spearheading the redesign of the bus network. His book “Trains, Buses, People: An Opinionated Atlas of US Transit” was published in 2018; a second edition that includes Canada was published in September 2021.
