Diane Patterson is a Business Intelligence Analyst with WMATA’s Office of Planning. Her work focuses on using big data, especially bus data, to develop actionable intelligence about our riders’ experience. Her recent projects have included identifying spatial and temporal patterns in ridership and crowding data during the pandemic to inform service change decisions, assessing the effect of reduced traffic congestion due to COVID-19 on bus travel times, and analyzing the performance of bus priority projects. Previously Diane worked in transportation planning for several local government agencies in the DC area.
