Dr. Cris B. Liban, P.E., ENV SP is currently the Executive Officer for Environment and Sustainability at the LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. He was appointed by President Obama’s US Environmental Protection Agency Administrator as a Council Member to the USEPA National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology. Dr. Liban also holds concurrent political appointments in the California Climate Safe Infrastructure Working Group, Los Angeles County Beach Commission and the City of Los Angeles Board of Transportation Commissioners. He is currently the Co-Chair of the APTA Sustainability Commitment Sub-Committee; and the Chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Committee on Sustainability. In December 2016, he received from Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte the Philippines’ Highest Prize for Individual Filipinos living overseas, the Pamana ng Pilipino Award. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Dr. Liban is an accomplished writer, international speaker, and social entrepreneur who has dramatically changed the lives of many individuals, communities, agencies, private entities, and jurisdictions.
