As Senior Sustainability Specialist for Valley Metro, Mackenzie works to create more environmentally sound transit system for the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Mackenzie is currently creating Valley Metro’s first climate action plan and leading efforts to bring battery electric buses into the agency’s bus fleet. She is passionate about the power of transit, active transportation, and vehicle electrification as a way to reduce emissions, improve air quality, and build a better city. Mackenzie graduated from Arizona State University in just four years with both a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability and a Master’s degree in Sustainability Solutions. Outside of Valley Metro, Mackenzie volunteers with the Arizona Sustainability Alliance by serving on the board of directors and helping fundraise for local sustainability efforts.
